As a San Diego based professional theatrical designer for the past 8 years, I love creating,
designing and working with other amazing and creative people! I am also a Polymer Clay
artist, and jewelry designer who sells my Handcrafted jewelry to boutiques, gift shops and
galleries across the country. When COVID-19 hit, all of my work went away, and I wondered
what I would do to make a living, but more importantly, I wondered what I could do to help.
When local groups asked for cloth masks to help our medical personnel in hospitals, I knew I
could jump in and make masks! As a costume designer, my goal is always to combine
function with fashion so I gathered all of the cotton fabric and elastic I had and put together a
few patterns to create a mask that is effective, comfortable, breathable as well as pretty and
fashionable! After donating hundreds of masks to local hospitals, health care providers and
essential workers, many friends asked if they could purchase them from me.
I have always loved coordinating my wardrobe with my jewelry so it was only natural to want
to coordinate my cloth masks as well. My Mother’s Day promotion for buy a pendant get a
free mask for mom was a huge hit! While I have been photographing my masks and jewelry
together and orders have been great, I reached out on social media for comments and/or
photos of friends wearing my masks to help with marketing.
